About Belmont and Redwood Shores
The city of Belmont is located in San Mateo County, just three miles northwest of Redwood City and 19 miles southeast of San Francisco. The Ohlone Indians were the original inhabitants of the area.
Belmont offers a wide range of natural treasures, local and fine dining experiences and cultural entertainment. From lakes and beaches to near-by museums, aquariums and shopping centers, the city is a gateway to numerous diversions.
Redwood City and the community of Redwood Shores are home to a number of high-tech companies, yet preserve the natural beauty of the area. Trails wind around the peninsula through lagoons, channels, sloughs and marshes, and offer a spectacular view of the area and natural wildlife.
